After a nine-week bench trial preceded by millions of pages exchanging hands, production of petabytes of data, and the parties deposed dozens of witnesses, including high-ranking executives at some of the world’s largest technology companies, the court held that Google violated the Sherman Act. At page 8 of the 286-page opinion, D.C. District Judge Amit P. Mehta set forth: “After having carefully considered and weighed the witness testimony and evidence, the court reaches the following conclusion: Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly." Despite finding of a clear violation of federal law, the court failed to come up with an order to break down the monopoly.
Monopolies are inherently detrimental to the population subjected to it on economic grounds.
There is another significant harm perpetrated by giants like Google that is not being spoken about: their collusion with the Targeted Individual Program to curtail individuals’ constitutional rights. Although Google is not the only collaborator with the highly illegal unacknowledged special access “Program”, it is one of the most blatant ones suppressing free speech.
Google dominates the aerial photography market. Its maps are used by many companies as part of the services they provide.
Shown below, the top picture is the Google-doctored aerial view of the driveway shown on the one below. You can clearly distinguish that the writing on the driveway was blurred.
It is understandable that the government criminals running the program would want to erase the message in the driveway. After all, dozens of planes are sent every week to harass the targeted family that lives there. The government criminals do not want the pilots to know that the individuals they are ordered to go stalk and do “surveillance” upon are innocent victims of a highly illegal program.
What is unacceptable is that Google blurred an “inconvenient” message for the government in its imaging of the driveway, preventing anyone using the apps that rely on Google maps from seeing the reality.
It is precisely the government collusion with powerful corporations such as Google, that have given in to them that made the program so pervasive and powerful.
Former Senator Trey Gowdy knew. On his grilling of DHS’ Kelli Ann Burriesci on the nomination of innocent people to the Terrorist Screening Database without notice or any due process and their deprivation of constitutional rights, he asked her: “How about the First [Amendment]. How about we don’t let them set up a website or open a Google account…until you petition the government to get off the list.”
Both the government and private corporations continue to violate citizens’ constitutional rights with absolute impunity. Google may have the rights to its photography, but not to misrepresent reality.
The day of reckoning will soon come. And each one will be liable for the harm perpetrated on the innocent victims of this highly illegal program.
In the meantime, continue documenting their illegal acts. Just like Judge Mehta concluded that Google violated the Sherman Act, their illegal actions in collusion with the “Program” will forever be recorded as part of the dark chapter of American history where the government used private corporations to persecute its very best for speaking the Truth, violating the most basic human, civil and constitutional rights.
IMO and I have been saying for years.....Trey Gowdy's video is the key to everything! It proves there is a list and that Ms. Burresci is lying before Congress because there is no option to petition the government to get off the list, should we disagree!! First, they have to acknowledge there is a" List"! Didn't they respond to your lawsuit by way of deflection by proclaiming that the Targeting program is " Fantastical"? Additionally, isn't the TSDB exactly why the Chevron Doctrine is no longer a valid option? The "Watchlist that is used to identify spies, terrorists( foreign and domestic,) is a necessary tool, but wouldn't our argument to the court be, in light of the Supreme Courts decision prohibiting the use of the Chevron Doctrine that the TSDB is OVERREACH? Case closed!!!Love you more every day Ana!! They're going to erect a monument to you one day! ❤️
Thank you Ana
